Some of the world's greatest timepieces are designed and manufactured in a Swiss region called Neuchatel. Carmel is now home to a shop that showcases the creations of these master watchmakers. Hugues (pictured at right), owner of Chatel, was born in the Alsace region of France. After studying six years in the finest watchmaking schools in France and Switzerland, he decided to travel to the United States where he fell in love with Carmel, California. Hugues established Chatel in 1995. Chatel takes special pride as an exclusive agent for some of the world's most discriminating watch manufacturers, such as Vacheron Constantin, Richard Mille, Parmigiani, Panerai, Jaeger Le Coultre, De Bethune, Breitling, Hublot, Speake Marin, Alain Silberstein and more.
